Bago ang lahat, please take note that, above all the qualifications, skills, talents, or personalities we may possess, tanging ang kaugnayan natin sa Diyos (how we hear from God through His Word in our daily lives) ang mainam at mabisang gabay natin kung saang larangan o trabaho / negosyo tayo nararapat.

Maraming dahilan kung bakit maraming manggagawa ang hindi nasisiyahan sa trabaho kaya’t lumilipat sa ibang kumpanya o nagiiba ng career. Ilan sa mga ito ay ang maliit na sahod, sobrang dami ng trabaho, at mahirap pakisamahang kamanggagawa, manager/ superior or boss. Many feel stressed, undervalued, underutilized or overworked. Ngunit ang lahat ng ito ay maaaring magbago sa buhay ng isang Kristiyano na mayroong tamang pagkakilala sa Diyos at mayroong tamang pananaw sa sarili, sa kapwa-tao at sa trabaho.

Maging malinaw sa atin na ang trabaho ay hindi parusa o sumpa. Bago pa man nahulog sa kasalanan sina Adan at Eba, mayroon na silang trabaho – iyon ay ang alagaan ang hardin at ang ibang nilalang ng Diyos. 15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it (Genesis 2:15 KJV). Ang pinagagawa ng Diyos sa kanila ay hindi mahirap; their work was enjoyable as they keep/take care of the garden and take dominion over all other creations (e.g. animals). But because of disobedience, work became hard, tedious and stressful. Sila’y pinaalis sa hardin. Mula noon kailangan na silang magbungkal ng lupa at magpakahirap para sila ay makakain [the ground was cursed], malayong-malayo sa dati nilang kalagayan kung saan ang Diyos ang kanilang Provider; nasa hardin ang lahat ng kanilang kailangan. Their Creator was also their Provider.

Work is good but sin corrupted it; so men need to work hard to sustain their lives. After the fall of man, work no longer satisfies nor give fulfillment; naging makasarili ang tao; marami ang gumagawa o nagtratrabaho para sa sarili. Ang mundo ay tuluyan nang nasira (corrupted) dahil sa kasalanan. Subalit, mayroong Magandang Balita, dumating si Hesus upang baguhin at papanumbalikin ang magandang pagtingin sa trabaho dahil Siya ngayon ay nabubuhay na sa atin at sa pamamagitan natin (He lives IN us and THROUGH us). Kung nasa atin na si Cristo, i.e. nasa atin ang Kanyang karunungan, lakas at kapangyarihan, mayroon ba tayong hindi makakayang gawin kung ito naman ay hindi lumalabag sa Kanyang kalooban?

Hindi masama ang maghangad (desire) ng pera (sa tamang paraan) kung ang motibasyon natin ay makatulong sa ating pamilya at sa ating kapwa o sinumang nangangailangan. Kalooban ng Diyos na tayo’y magtagumpay at sumagana upang makatulong at maging pagpapala sa iba at instrumento ang ating mga trabaho o negosyo upang mangyari iyon. Kaya’t napakahalaga na tingnan natin ang ating trabaho bilang bahagi ng panawagan ng Diyos sa ating buhay (as part of God’s calling), bilang paglilingkod (as service to God) at pagsamba sa Kanya (as an act of worship). Dinala ka Niya sa iyong trabaho (maybe a stepping stone) para sa isang mas mataas na layunin (for a greater purpose). We are ambassadors of Christ! With this in mind, our work /business can become our mission field where we can show God’s love and grace, share the good news and bring light and hope in the lives of our co-workers or colleagues [employees, if you are the employer].

At bilang manggagawa at ambasador ni Cristo, tayo ay pinapaalalahanan ng Salita ng Diyos na sumunod at magpasakop sa mga namumuno sa atin nang may katapatan, paggalang at pagkatakot (nakikita man ng iba o hindi), dahil ang pinaglilingkuran natin ay si Cristo, hindi ang tao. We, as Christians, were already blessed by God. By His grace, everything we will ever need in this world is already provided; we just need to believe it (appropriate it through faith).
